Spravato® is an FDA-approved nasal spray treatment for adults with treatment-resistant depression: depression that hasn’t responded to at least two different antidepressants tried at adequate doses.
It works differently from traditional antidepressants. Rather than acting on serotonin over weeks, esketamine acts on NMDA receptors in the brain and can produce meaningful symptom relief more rapidly. Treatment is administered in-office under clinical supervision.
